Project Life 2016 ~ May 23 to 25 (Rome)

Project Life 2016

May 23
We arrived at London Gatwick airport at 10:35 AM this morning, but we have a 6 hours lay over, sigh.... (NOTE to self - never do this route again, regardless how cheap the ticket is!)
We finally got to Rome at 10:10 PM, so tired, but at the same time, I am glad that Papi is finally home with DH. According to DH, Papi was SOOOOO happy to see DH, I bet he is saying to himself "going home finally!!!"
My trip to Rome with Clare and Dolce, partly is to send Dolce to school, she is doing her business program here in Rome, the study here is part of her Master degree that starts this summer.
I tried AirBnb last December when we visited San Francisco, I like the experience so I found Dario's apartment via AirBnb this time too.
We got to Dario's apartment after 11 PM, he was there waiting for us, gave us all the necessary information, it was helpful. The apartment is clean and nice, location is awesome, we have the view of St. Peter's Basilica right at the balcony.

the apartment is not very big, but it has everything we need....

Dario even leave some bread on the table for us...

there's a queen size bed for Clare and I...

Dolce will only be here for a night, she will be going to campus early tomorrow morning...

May 24
The next morning, we snap more pictures of the balcony...

and the amazing view of St. Peter's Basilica

Dairo's apartment is in a great neighborhood....

and it is only 10 minutes to the Vatican......

we walked by the bridge near Sant' Angelo Castle....

snapped a lot of picture including this funny one to send to DH....

our destination is Campo de' Fiori...

you know how I love market places.....

pretty pasta and yummy fruits.....

What can be more relaxing than sitting at sidewalk cafe, enjoying tea and breakfast....

after breakfast, we walked to Piazza Nanova...

and next is..... The Pantheon....

 and then Trevi Fountain....

by this time, my legs were so sore we had to take a cab to Colosseum.

this is not my first time to Rome but I still snapped a thousand pictures

The Rome Forum is just next to the Colosseum

after the Rome Forum, Clare and I had dinner at a nearby restaurant

and then back to the Colosseum for more photos

we wanted to see Spanish Steps before we head back to the apartment

as we track back, we walked by Tiber River...

these little green book stand reminds me of the Bouquinisters by la Seine in Paris

well, I am walking in those shoes for nearly 12 hours today, I really need to sit down for a rest.

walking through the Vatican one more time... this time in the evening sun

May 25
We are catching a flight this afternoon to Venice, but we have the morning free, we thought we should go to the Vatican again to see if we can get ticket to Sistine Chapel, but....

look at the sea of people at 7:30 AM, oh... we learn that Papa Francisco is coming

since we can't get in, we walked towards the apartment, stop by a side walk cafe for breakfast

this dog keep coming to us for so head scratch...... Oh I miss my Papi!

For my July's DT project at Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style, we are using this sketch by Emma Pescott

This journal card will go into my ROME travel journal

Thanks for sticking with me till the end! : )
