City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 160 ~ Color Challenge by Ros

Thanks for the concern my dear blog friend, my bad back situation has improved a little, I am able to move around a little bit easier : )

The new challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog is a Color Challenge

Ros has a beautiful picture for us to work on

Here's my take....

Come play along with us

My blog friend Elma is our special guest this week, and of course you will see the fabulous work of our team over at City Crafter Challenge Blog

...........................

Movie Night

We went to The Great Gatsby last night, my just turned 18 year old daughter won't go with us, she is like an "old lady" in the family, she listens to songs of the 40s, watch movies of the 20s, she watched and read so much that she scored an A+ on her essay on film history from the 20s-50s, her reason for not going to 'this' Gatsby movie was everything in the movie is too modern, well, true enough, I love the movie but agree with her that I can't stand the "almost like rap" music in the movie.

A dear friend bought me the book years ago, and he sent the book overnight via FedEx express with the golden Aspen leaves fresh from the tree, unfortunately, he passed away in 2007, *sigh...... now I am so going to read the book once again

I should probably know this story by now, but don't. I just don't take the time to read lately....except of studying, :-)

Your card is so so pretty!

Such a pretty card Kirsty.

P/s: I love all the fashion in the movie. I read a lot but if there's movie, I'd just watch the movie. Because there are way too many books I want to read in this lifetime. I have to cheat a little. lol

Your daughter sounds like a very interesting person that I would love to meet! Good for her, being an old soul in a young lady's body. :)

Beautiful card, as always. XX

Oh gosh Ros really picked a gorgeous inspiration photo. The chipboard piece you used is just beautiful Kirsty. I have to admit I like those old movies too, but I don't mind the new ones. Hugs!

Wow, your card is sooooo beautiful, Kirsty! And such a perfect take on that gorgeous inspiration photo. Love the glittered flower and the pretty sentiment. Just perfect!
I am kinda with your daughter on this movie........really don't have a strong desire to see if because I don't want to detract from the mental image I have of the book. :)

Lovely card Kirsty, that rose is adorable! I, too, love old movies, or at least the ones that are true to their historic character, haven´t seen The Great Gatsby yet, but maybe that´s because I´m not that fond of Leonardo di C. Hope you had a good time though!!

What a beautiful card. That rose is so pretty. I remember seeing the previews for The Great Gatsby and thinking I didn't like the music. I might just wait to rent that movie on DVD..

Hugs~

Oh Wow! this is gorgeous Kirsty… I love the sparkly flower and gorgeous papers… it's a fab layout and beautiful colours! :-)
I read The Great Gatsby in my teens (a long time ago!) but loved it... and I liked the original film with Robert Redford... it will be interesting to see what I make of this new version... but willing to give it a try...
I'm glad that your back pain has eased a little… take things easy!
Big hugs

you know, when i was reading this, i thought, "well, GATSBY, surely that will qualify as being "classic" enough for dolce!" but no... too modern, lol!!!!! :) (& in fairness, baz luhrman really DOES go out on a limb with all of his films, so i guess she has me there!) :) :) :) anyway, at least you & randy are "young enough" to give the new stuff a try!!!

ps: LOVE this card, and love ros' challenge pic & colors... just need some TIME over the weekend!

pss: sorry to hear you've been having "back issues" again... there's nothing worse... even teeth are easier to deal with... (i should not even SAY THAT since we've both had a pretty good year for teeth so far!!!) ♥♥♥♥♥ hope you are fully back to fighting strength soon!!
