Tokyo Mini Album

This is a travel journal+album Lauren gave me

I jot down a few lines every evening at the hotel while I was in Tokyo, and add the rest of the stuff when I come home so the album and color pen is the only thing I bring with me

I was happy that I still remember how to write in Japanese

After I come home, I print the photos and add the maps I collected during the trip

the note was done when I was there so I won't forget when I come home

that way, I get my travel journal done as soon as I get home, it was quick and easy so I make another one following the same format, and this one is for my Europe trip, which I will be showing sometime later when I get a chance.

Looking back......

I had accumulated so many photos on my laptop, I just had to dig out a few to share...

September 2012, hubby and I went to 

New Orleans

It seemed that New Orleans haven't recover from Hurricane Katrina, when we were there, the River walk Market place was quiet, hardly any tourists and many businesses were still close.

People were standing in lines waiting for food stamps.

The highlight of the trip wasn't the nightlife at French Quarter, in fact, being me (conservative), flashing one's lady parts to get beads is total madness to me, and I had to walked with care in case the flying beads from the balcony above hit my head : 0

a piece of history that one should be ashamed of

whew.... after reading all that, I need to find my peace here...

and how could one go home without a beignet at Cafe du Monde?

Our Beautiful World

This week is

FALL

sometimes people here in Las Vegas complained about not having enough "colors", I don't think that is true, look at this, a park 15 minutes drive from our house, we too have lovely FALL colors!

Although today is first day of FALL, but like most places, FALL actually hasn't arrive, the photos here were taken in November, 2012.

we drove to Aspen early this week just to see the yellow and red aspen leaves, usually in full bloom by this time of the year, but nah..... I am quite disappointed. And I was going to use the Aspen photos so that when we look back, we'll know that FALL came late this year, but (again) I was so busy with Papi that I have no time to upload the photos to my computer, so I guess I will have to show you another time. Ok, gotta go, Papi is calling.....

New York City - August 2012

There is so much of New York to take in, even I lived there for 8 years and went back to visit again and again,  I still can never tired of this wonderful city......

on this trip, hubby and I totally want to be tourist again, took the New York Water Taxi from South Street Seaport and went to the Williamsburg Flea by the East River.

got a gorgeous sight of the Brooklyn bridge on the ferry

and saw Frank Gehry's building from a distance, and the Freedom Tower was still under construction at that time

I had these instead, fatty pork belly just looks good to me

old stuff, nice stuff

it is lucky that I always travel light and have no space for these stuff

other wise, will burn a big hole in my hubby's pocket

did get a box of these for 5 bucks though

we took a 45 minutes walk to Green point, where my favorite bakery is

Ovenly has the best sea salt chocolate cookies, yum!!!! If you are in Brooklyn, do stop by, they do sell these yummies at Joe's coffee in Manhattan

on the same trip, I also met up with Lauren, where I treated her at Alice Tea Cup on the upper west side for her birthday meal

Look! Lauren came with a plan too, we are going thrifting in the city together

ok, I gotta go, lots to do today, have a great Labor Day weekends my friend in the USA and for my friends overseas, have a fun one too!
