PTI Make it Monday #169

The Challenge:

On Nichole's blog said #168 but I believe it is #169 as I played along almost every week unless I am on the road.

I started with PTI Mehndi Medallion impression plate that I hardly use because I still can't work them correctly and get the effect I wanted, this time seems a little bit better. Next is to chalked them with purple/blue shades.

and then I stamped using various stamps and inks from PTI

ok, look closely at the following photo, see if it is different from my other photo I posted before, I actually followed the tips from my blog friend Diane Jaquay, few days ago she blogged about how to get the perfect shot for your card, I learn a lot from her, thanks Diane! I didn't have the form base at home and I can't wait to try it out, so I used a white hard cover envelope I have at home and I love the effect, do you? Try it out, and don't forget to hop over to Diane's blog, she is amazing, her cards are always awesome and her photography skill is wonderful!

after I stamped on the blue vellum, I didn't quite like the look, so I used PTI feather dies and stamps and added another layer, this time, I am happier!

well, it turned out better than I expected

One Layer Thank You Card

The Challenge:

I need make a quick card for the parent of my student, and I don't want to go stand in line at the post office, so I make a one layer card that can be mailed in regular envelope, that way, I can just drop it in the mailbox with the forever stamp I have at home.

this card is just mostly stamping + sentiment

I just trim the front bottom part a little to show the patterned paper from the inside of the card

hop over to

and join in the fun this week

Our Beautiful World 51 ~ By the Seashore

This week at

Robyn picked the prompt that is so close to my heart.

Yes, I am more of a "water" person than the "mountain". I like to live close to the water, that was my dream since I was a little girl, I often dream of having a tiny house near the water.

When I lived in New York City, I walked to the Hudson a lot, a lot of times when I was alone and feeling down and a lot of times when I just walked with some of my best friends having fun.

Then the last one year and a half in the East Coast, we lived in Jersey City, which I have to take the Path, a underground train that goes under the Hudson river, it was 4 minutes away from the World Trade Center (Twin Tower) in NYC, when we walked out of the train station, the Hudson is just there, we usually walked along the river to get home, it was a 5 minutes walk of joy every single time.

I also have the opportunity to live by the Atlantic Ocean for a short period of time, that was the Jersey Shore, Long Branch, New Jersey to be exact, we rented a house off season and have the ocean all by ourselves, that was the good old days, we are looking forward to go back there someday soon, I don't know when, but I do hope that it is real soon because I can feel that I am dying out in the desert. Unfortunately, my computer crushed in 2009 and I lost all of my photos so I no images of that except those in my mind.

San Francisco is the nearest I can get to the Ocean after moving to the desert, so my photo today is from San Francisco

Every time when we are in San Francisco, I just need to go to the water just feel that I am alive again.

What about you? Do you like living by the water or the mountain? Come tell us at

NBUS (New but unused schtuff)

I first came across the NBUS challenge is through my friend Char, oh yes, we all have those stacking up in one corner, or two, or many corners in our craft room, so I rush to my craft room and look around.....

after staring at the stack for a while, I decided to use the PTI with the new MFT cardstock paper, the PTI die probably is more than a year old and the MFT pink paper are pretty new

I only found out that the pack actually have 2 dies when I open it, bonus! LOL!

here it is..... (I forgot to take picture of the sentiment I stamped underneath the zipper, is that what you call it?)

the scribble dies gotta to be new favorite

I know the NBUS challenge #1 is Anything Goes, with "Friendship theme", this is going to a friend who just got a new grand baby, I intend to make a mini album later to go with this.

now why don't you hop over to Darnell's blog and join in the celebration, she just hit 500 followers, that sure is one good reason to celebrate, congrats Darnell!
