PTI Make it Monday #151 ~ Drop Shadow Die Cuts

The Challenge:

Another fun technique by Betsy Veldman, you can watch the tutorial HERE!

I used my latest PTI products Feather Finery Stamp set

I also used Papertrey INK (Sweet blush, Hibiscus burst and Autumn rose) for the feathers and the background, I want a very soft background so I do 2nd generation stamping even though I already used a very light tone - Sweet Blush.

liquid pearls on the feathers, I so love liquid pearls

keeping the card as flat as possible, and I am going to continue to go this direction as expensive postage for overseas just killing me

Despite the bad weather in the East Coast, we did take off and got here on Wednesday evening, it was brrrr..... cold, the street is filled with dirty, slushy snow, good that I brought my snow boots and winter coat here this time......

and bad that I am going to sunny island Singapore after NYC and that I absolutely DO NOT need these items : (

We met up with Dolce for dinner at Joe's Shanghai, the best soup dumpling in the world (no kidding, I seriously traveled the world to eat Shanghai soup dumpling) and followed by China town ice cream, yes, you heard me right, cold winter night, 32F and we are eating ice-cream, they must be good!

this morning, I walked to Bryant Park like all tourist would, I love the strange feeling whenever I am back here in the city, everything is so familiar and yet so strange now that I am a tourist, sort of!

everywhere and everything is covered with snow.....

the chairs and table at the park....

even the drinking fountain...

the carousel at the park was playing French music....hmmm, reminded me of Paris

I met up with my friend Susan, had lunch and chit chat, was fun!

We are meeting Dolce and her room mate this evening, maybe take the girls to a French restaurant!

I do miss my little guy at home, who is staying with our friend Brendan. Brendan said Papi cried for a little while when we left.... sop sop, I miss my Papi!

Oh, I KNOW you miss your baby, my friend! But he is in very good hands at Brendan's house, and what an amazing experience you are having. Love all the NYC photos. I know how you feel about being back there...that's always how I feel now when I go home to SF. Hope you enjoy every minute of your time there, and then in Singapore!
I LOVE your gorgeous card! SUCH a fabulous way to use the drop-down technique!

Your card is lovely! I like the shadowed effect, but the background is also a great fit. Plus the sentiment is straight on. Thanks for the peak into your trip. We love to see those photos.

This is the prettiest card Kirsty. I just spent a few minutes trying to figure out exactly how you made it because I love how it turned out. Susy and I are going to NYC in just a few months hopefully it's not so cold then.

By the way...the ice must be very yummy, with this temperature :-)

BRRRrrrr... That looks cold!! We didn't have a proper winter here (not yet anyway), but when I see your photos, then I have to say that I feel very fortunate that we didn't have it :-)
So nice to see photos of your travels! Hope you'll enjoy your time even while missing Papi.
Take care dear. Hugs xx
