City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 244 ~ Winter White

Stella is hosting this week's challenge at

Winter White

is the theme

We were asked to make a project with mainly white and add a bit of soft tone such as pale pink, grey, or green, I am going with soft green here.

I don't make that many layered card anymore, mainly because it is difficult to ship, not only that the postage is a lot more expensive these days, the biggest reason is I just hate to go to the post office in my area, sigh...... they close for break without notice, there are times that I just make empty trips again and again, just can't figure out when are they going on break, and when they are working, the line is always long, going to post office usually takes about 30-40 minutes, so...... I just get stamps and then drop my mail in the outgoing box, I can do that and skip the custom declaration part as long as the envelope is the regular flat kind and not bulky padded kind.

Well, that is the long story of me not making layered card, but when I make one, I really like it.

as you can see, the sequin is white, but in some angle, it just appeared pink : 0

I hope you come play along with us

Our guest this week is Deepti

and check out the CCCB Designers too

It's really lovely Kirsty ... Here the lady at the post office gives me a whole roll of the declaration slips so I can complete them myself. I guess I could also do the postage online if I wanted.

I love love love your take on the theme. It's a stunner!!!!!!!I love CAS cards - which is more budgetfriendly with postage - but I also love to create layered cards. The post office here is very friendly; they gave me custom declarations to fill in at home. Saves time; but does not save money :)

Love, love, love this gorgeous card, Kirstie! Too bad you have such a problem with your post office. I have such nice people at mine I made them a Christmas card so they know what all those bumpy envelopes are like inside--LOL! Cutting down on the "bumps" though, as the cost is just too high to mail them.

Such a beautiful card! Love it! I agree...much easier to post in the post box than stand in the queue!

Winter white, that is what I see when I look out my window, here in Minnesota. :)

Your card is beautiful, and I like how the sequin appears to change colors, depending on the angle.

You're right, postage costs are getting sooo high. I read an article saying that the post office is "proud" to announce that postage rates will not rise in January 2015. Reading between the lines, though, I think that means that postage rates will just go up later in the year. Sigh.

Wow- I just love the soft, mellow green in this card. So pretty! I've had similar trouble snapping photos of shiny things. I still think your card is beautiful.
