My Star

Use only red, white and blue and must include (3) or more pre-made STAR embellishments

Here's my layout....

first I pull out all the red, white and blue paper that I have, and the Tim Holtz chipboard stars

I traced the star on patterned paper and that's the cover for it

Here's my little shining star on the beam

There's a little trick I would like to share today, it is not new, I learn it from Betsy Veldman sometime ago, but I though it would be helpful to some who are looking for solution on this particular subject, if I could do my part and spread the words to more people, that would be nice wouldn't it?

Do you have problem when comes to using embossing powder?

You'll leave bits of embossing powder or glitters around the stamped image?

Like in this case, the background is white, and I have red paint splatters so I really want to keep the area around my stamped glittered star as clean as possible

I think they called it embossing buddy, it helps keep unwanted flecks of embossing powder or glitter from sticking to the paper. I think they sell it at scrapbook store, in a nice pouch form of course, I just want it quick so I find a piece of rag, filled it with baking powder and tie the top with rubber bands.

rub it around the area that you want to stamp on, and here's the 2 photos where you can compared the result, I didn't use the embossing buddy on the left. The one on the right has the cleaner effect around the stamped image, the red glitters didn't stick as much outside the star

Well, if you are one that is looking for some solution for your crafting problem like I used to, I hope this little trick helps....

.........

On the road again

see you when I am back

Fabulous layout and love your stars. I have a bought'embossing buddy' and it works very well! Yours is probably the best way to go as it would be far cheaper and just as effective:O)
