Happy Birthday Ros!!!!

It is Ros Birthday, and this is the card I made specially for her

Just something non craft related to share here
I am so happy that Verizon announced that they are finally having the apple i-phone, YAY!!! A day I have been waiting.....
I am a big fan of APPLE products, of course I have an I-phone, if you are in the U.S, you will know that AT &T was (YA! WAS, no longer...) the sole service carrier for the Apple I-phone for a looooog time, the thing is, AT &T has the worst customer service in the whole wide world, they added unnecessary stuff to your bill, and when you questioned, then they took it off, I went through this numerous time, the worst thing is, their staff are not customer friendly, you know the saying "Like father, like son", ya, if the top people think this way, they will let their employees behaved the way they are today, they think you cannot go anywhere because you love your i-phone, I finally decided not to take any of their crap anymore and let my I-phone put to sleep, cancelled 2 of my AT&T line that were out of contract and use a Verizon paid as you go phone, patiently waiting for TODAY, well, actually Feb 3, where I can start ordering the I-phone 4 with Verizon. 
Anyone who knows me, know that I cannot part with my I-phone, to make me stop using my I-phone for 7 long months, it has to be something that really pissed me off.

Another incident to support my war with AT & T, I was in New York City few months ago, and I do not have good connection at the apartment we had in Jersey City, so I rushed to a Verizon and asked some question about the air card, the employee was very friendly, he patiently explained my options to me, but then I thought, since there is an AT &T just across the street from Verizon, I really want to give them another shot, so I told this friendly guy at Verizon, "do you mind if I go over to AT&T and check it out first", he graciously gave me the direction to AT&T with a smile on his face. I went over to AT&T, asked the same question, the employee said NO to every question I asked, some even before I finish my question. They won't install and activate the air card for me, even I sign a one year contract to get their air card for my net book without a CD drive, less than 3 minutes, her attitude drives me away, I told her, "well, Verizon does it if I get the air card for them", she answered "Go now, Verizon is just across the street". I told her, "it is YOUR kind of service that get people start hating AT &T!", so I went back to Verizon, that same friendly guy installed everything I need, explained everything I ever need to know about the air card, and while we chatted, he told me that many of Verizon customer are like me, waiting for the day that they could have I-phone without the service of AT&T

Another sidewalk news..... a driver I know who drives the CEO of Verizon, in one incident, the driver told the CEO, who was in his car that day, that a particular area do not have coverage for Verizon phone, the CEO immediately asked the driver for more details, and guess what, he canceled his trip and make a turn back to the office, and make sure the employees at Verizon fix the problem. If you have a top like him, of course you will experience great customer service from all Verizon employees, this is my personal experience with Verizon and AT &T.

Few months ago, CNBC announced that 30% of I-phone potential buyer do not get an I-phone because of the service of AT&T, today, they said that when Verizon start the pre-order for I-phone on Feb 3rd, they expecting the number to be greater than what the I-phone base today, meaning, the sales will be up more than 100% for I-phone!!! AT & T, you cannot monopolized the market anymore!!!!

YUCK... what an ugly sight!!!...you made a good choice Kirsty to move on to Verizon... dont ever look back... defnitely not your loss.... theirs... aarrgg... piss me off too... reading about bad ugly customer service.... !!!

This is a gorgeous birthday card and the colors are right up my alley! That little piece of folded music sheet paper as a border is beautiful; it fits perfect and the soft tones of all the pieces give this card a warm look. I love love love it!

And that phone company...I know what you mean. It's so frustrating when a company is having a monopoly position and customers are becoming numbers..... ( or even more worse; being treated as an object) No service, no attention and I am always pissed off when they interrupt you when you're talking or asking a question. And their attitude....Its good to read that there is an oppotunity to choose another company in February. But I know what you mean. And what do you think about insurance companies, supermarkets and so on? My oh my sometimes.....

But a few more weeks of patience....

It's good to read that we all have these kind of things that make me cranky :)

awww arent u the sweetest! :) that's a really sweet, lovely card...it's terrible wat u've been through with at&t..i know wat it feels like cause it happens here too!!! I've been greeted with bad service one too many times..but i'm terrible..I'm just too lazy to switch lines *lol*!!

She is just going to love your card it is so pretty!

I have had verizon for Years and have never had a problem.. I get a big discount on my bill because I am a city emplyoee and they are contracted with the City.. I don't have a smart phone.. But Bruce does have the Droid and most of the time I can get on my lap top (thats if we are not out in the middle of nowhere). I had heard you could not do that with AT&T..

So glad you will soon have your iphone back and working ... It's very annoying when one company has a monopoly but unhelpful staff are a nightmare! ... Have a lovely day ... It's 14.47 here and I still haven't had breakfast!!! had visitors and flowers arriving all day ... another friend will be arriving soon!!

Kirsty, your card is gorgeous and I really love the accordion music strip at the bottom! I personally don't like that there are big companies who monopolize certain markets. It's not competitive and isn't the best for customers who want more options. Good for you for finding something better! Slowly but surely things are happening here, too. I wish those new companies the best of luck!

What an absolutely darling card you made for Ros, she'll be thrilled to get it :-)
Luckily for us there's quite a lot of competition among telephone providers, but I hooked up to one of the biggest (and also best I must say) a couple of years ago, so I'm satisfied (so far anyway :-)

So happy for you that you finally have a reliable and customer-friendly service provider for your iphone. i know exactly what you mean and no matter how fantastic a store's merchandise, pricing or location; i don't go back if the customer service is bad. My experience with lss here is a classic case.
