Pretty shades again ~ Create For Fun Challenge # 4

Mona Pendleton started this color challenge few weeks ago, I wanted to play along with all those beautiful color palette she had chosen but just couldn't squeeze in as much time as I wish to craft, I am not going to miss this one! Look! it's my favorite shades again!

And the beautiful inspiration photo is from A Creative Mint, my all time favorite blog, Leslie from A Creative Mint just has the prettiest images, you need to hop over and see it for yourself if you haven't yet.

Here's my take on CR84FN4

I tried to create a "crack" effect but I failed to do so, the Utee I used on the sheet music makes the paper torn instead of crack, LOL!

But I still use it since it has that "vintage" look I want

If anyone out there could share some tips on how to use the Utee embossing, or how to get that crack effect, I would love to improve on this. First of all, it is so hard to make the Utee stick to my paper, it flew all over the place when I use the heating tool.

Seeing these shades just make me happy.....

Hi Kirsty ... lovely card .. I love the music paper ... here's a link that may help you though ... seems it is better to heat from underneath to stop the powder blowing away ... http://www.scrapjazz.com/topics/Techniques/Embossing/967.php

I knew this palette was right up your alley. LOL Beautiful card. Your UTEE might not have done what you wanted, but you're right, it does add to the vintage look. I've tried this technique and it's hard to get the cracks to go the way you want them to. You definitely need several layers and I put mine in the freezer for a while before I cracked it. Hugs!
