Home with a bad back.... sigh...

I am back from NYC... with a bad back : (
My daughter has so many heavy luggages to bring home with her, I hurt my back helping her dragging those bags, and boy... guess how much I paid for over weight bags, 300 bucks, yikes....

Do you have kids that go to college with 2 bags and come home with 3? What do you do when kids do not listen to you? My older girl goes to school in CA, I drove her up to school with my mini car, and we had to rent an SUV to bring all her stuff back last summer, I thought my younger would learn from the experience, when I moved her to NYC beginning of the school year, I restricted her to just 2 bags, I said if you cannot fit your stuff into two bags, you are just not bringing because we are flying and not driving, it is just not worth to pay extra for bags, so we did without problem. Who knows the problem came when I have to move her home after the school year ended, not only I have to buy another 29" luggage for her, we came home paying 300 extra for flying the bags home, plus a bad back from dragging those bags out of the dorm room to the car park. What should I do with kids like that? Any advice? Anyway, thanks for letting me vent, LOL! I am glad she is home though!

Ok, here's a card for

Beautiful card! I love the colors and composition. Gorgeous!

(And I have that same bird too! Isn't he great?)

And I have college kids too. We had to rent a van to get their stuff home. :( Unfortunately, I think it happens to all parents.

Did you tell her you could have bought a lot of crafting supplies with that money! LOL! LOVE your card, LOVE the bow! LOVE the paper combo and that big shiny button!

Absolutely stunning! I love the stamped flowers on the lower right, such a small thing can add so much sometimes! On the subject of kids...well, if I knew the answer I would be in heaven! Just know this, you aren't the only one who has kids that won't listen, we are experiencing the same thing here...I guess as they get into their teens they lose their hearing lol!

Beautiful card, Kirsty, love the colors! I had four kids in college and survived all four! We spent years traveling overseas and my two daughters always had 25 lb backpacks they could hardly carry while my two boys had light weight backpacks! College was the same. The girls always came home with more. The only thing you can do is cut their spending budget and listen to them cry over the phone or just accept it and move on! Just wait until it comes time for the weddings! Now that will break you back and your pocket book! Hugs and happiness for Sunday, feel better soon!
