Party Time

It's PARTY time!

I am joining in the fun at My Desert Cottage -"Where Bloggers Create ll"
It starts tomorrow (June 19th) but we were asked to do our posting earlier so that International Blogger from other parts of the world could join in as much fun as they started their day earlier.

I am fortunate that I could be a part of the fun event, but unfortunately, I will be spending most of my Saturday (June 19th - party date) on traveling, I came to New York City to attend my daugther's graduation and will be flying back to Vegas Saturday afternoon, so I will be at the airport, on the plane, driving back home during most part of the day, I hope to steal some time in the morning before I take off, and late evening, when I get home, to come in and out of the party to see what everyone else had created.

So here you go, this is the little space of mine!

BEFORE

We lived in Manhattan for 7 years, although my monthly rent cost 3,200 but our tiny apartment is about 700 sq/ft, I did not have a proper place to do my paper craft. We moved to Jersey City, NJ a year ago, although it is another state, but it is just across the Hudson river from Wall Street. It took us only 4 mintues to get to World Trade Center, and 15 minutes to Time Square, being so close to New York City, you probably already guess that the space is not going to be much bigger. Yes, I had 2 bedrooms instead of one in New Jersey but still, there were not proper crafting space, I used my kitchen counter as my craft table, I hide my sewing machine in its box and in the coat closet at the entrance of the door, my papers, die cut machine, glitters, punches and other stuff are all in boxes on my one and only book shelf. Every time I need to make a card, I need to move everything out from the boxes, and when it is meal time, I need to put them back so we all could use the kitchen counter to prepare food and then have meal, it was a chores, I must have LOVE paper crafting THAT MUCH in order to be willing to go through all that painful procedure on a regular basis.

and  .......

We moved to Las Vegas slightly more than a week ago

AFTER

Look! I have a craft room now!!!!!

My sewing machine is now sitting there, no more hiding (smile, sewing machine)

My little cozy corner where my husband and daughters could come in and talk to me while I am crafting.

The "Lone Mountain" is what I see when I look out of my window!

And in this little space of mine, I created these two cards in the past week that made it to Fab 5 at
2 Sketches 4 You and Fab 4 at The Play Date Cafe! (Must be Las Vegas that brought me luck!!!)

If you think my craft room is neat and tidy, then I am going to tell you it is not true!
There are 2 reasons for what you are seeing now
1. This craft room is only a week old (we just moved to a new place)

2. There is a closet next to those tidy white shelves, that I used to keep all the scrap and stash and junk I accumulated the past 15 years, and I need to find time to sort them out!

Alright, I can't wait to visit your crafting space now, I knew that my friend Linda (My Happy Place) and Victoria (Things I learn from Bear) will be there at the party too, see you all soon!

I spent the first 20 years of my marriage crafting on the kitchen table so I know what if feels like to finally have a space where you can leave a project out and come back to it later without having to put everything away or eat dinner around it. Congratulations...beautiful cards, too.

I am also a papercrafter/scrapbooker and have been for over 10 years, but only a blogger for 2 wks! I lost my craft room after the sale of my home and it was such a hassle dragging everything out all the time. I can not imagine having to do it daily. It does show your love for the craft.

I about fell out of my seat when I saw your photo of the prima flowers. (The one after the paper storage container) I used to collect them and have the whole year except April, May and June. Never have been able to find them either.
It is to bad that Prima quit putting out there flowers in pretty bottles. At least I dont see them anymore.

I get my inspiration from other crafters who share the same passions that I do. Thank you for being a part of that today and good luck with your craft space. Cant wait to see it next year! ~Sherry F.
