is a place where you can share photographs taken by you from your part of the word
We have a new word prompt every Sunday.
This week is
THANKSGIVING
We don't really celebrate Thanksgiving at home, we usually go out for a meal or just make something simple at home.
When I think of the word Thanksgiving, I think of the color orange and pumpkins.
I took a photo at the door front of Cracker Barrel 2 weeks ago when we drove to Zion National Park, did a bit of editing with Picmonkey.
Well, Thanksgiving supposed to remind us that we need to be grateful, and give thanks, as I was drafting this post, I wasn't in my best mood, so I thought I'll dig out some quotes to see if they will make me feel better...... and why not share them with you my friends.
"Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy."
~ Ann Frank
We did have a lot of natural beauties in this world, let's dig out some photos I took at Zion National Park....
{Zion National Park, November 2013}
Does it make me feel better? umm.... I don't think so, I still feel like s****
so I continue to look......
"If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again
I won't look any further than my own back yard.
Because if it isn't there,
I never really lost it to begin with."
~ L. Frank Baum, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
This one had me think and think and think ........
When I am sad and down, I always thought of New York City, the eight years I spent there were the most difficult time for me financially, but it was also the happiest time in my life as far as I can remember, when I am sad, the first thought is always - I miss the days in NYC, I miss the time where I can get up every morning and worry about nothing but money. When your biggest worry is money, you are having a good life. I miss my walk at west side highway, I miss the Hudson, I miss upper west side, I miss Lincoln center and The Juilliard School.... the list can go on and on as I miss my New York City.
{Flat Iron Building, NYC, May 2013}
Ok, I think I feel a teeny tiny bit better, not a whole lot, but better than feeling crappy, now I am going to look in my backyard to see if I can find my heart's desire there!
Thanks for letting me share....

ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling a little less in the funk. Holidays are a funny time of year- expectations for cheer and togetherness and yet sometimes the busyness just breeds a certain sad, loneliness. It, too, will pass. Lovely pictures though!
